This is a collection of fishing rigs drawings, made by a local fisherman here in the Pacific Northwest.
The fishing rigs drawings were scanned and re-touched. The hand-written notes were faded from copying and scanning, so they were replaced with computer font.

Bobber Rigs
- Rubber band, Balsa slip float, Rubber band, Split shot, Weighted fly.
- Bobber stop, Bobber bead, Foam bobbers, 6mm plastic bead, Egg weight, Barrel swivel, Spinner weight, Egg roe.
- Bobber stop, Bobber stop bead, Water filled bobber, Barrel swivel, Jig.
Basic Trout Rigs
- Sliding rig: Leader 3 to 4 feet, Floating bait with treble hook, Barrel swivel, Egg weight.
- Floating bobber rig: Snap bobber, Spit shot, Bait hook with worm.
- Fly + bobber rig: Leader 6 to 8 feet, Barrel swivel, Water filled bobber.
Bank Fishing Drift Rigs
- Sliding rig: Leader 3 to 4 feet, Floating bait with treble hook, Egg weight, Barrel swivel.
- Floating bobber rig: Snap bobber, Spit shot, Bait hook with worm.
- Fly + bobber rig: Fly, Leader 6 to 8 feet, Barrel swivel, Water filled bobber.
Anchoring Rigs
- Sliding rig: Size 3 or 1/0 barrel swivels, Snap swivel, Cannon ball weight, 8mm plastic beads, Kwikfish or Flatfish.
- Fixed rig: Three way swivel or spreader, Snap swivel, Cannon ball weight, Wiggler’s or Spinner’s.
Trout River Rigs
- Split shot, Bait hook, Earthworm or night crawlers.
- Snap swivel, Spoon or spinner lure.
- Snap bobber, Split shot, Salmon egg bait with Salmon egg hook.
- Water filled bobber, Barrel swivel, Weighted fly.
Sliding or Fixed Trolling Rigs
- Locking swivel, Cannon ball weight, Size 3 or 5 barrel swivel, Flasher or Dodger, Bead chains, Spinner.
- Three way swivel, Locking swivel, Bead chains, Flasher or Dodger, Mooching rigs.
- Salmon spreader, Locking swivel, Bead chain, Mooching rigs.
Paul’s Plunking Rig
- Size 3 or 5 locking swivel, Kwikfish or Flatfish, 8mm plastic bead, Size 3 barrel swivel, Three way swivel, 20 inch leader, Spin & Glo’s, 40 inches between spreaders, Salmon spreader, 6 inch leader, Locking swivel, Pyramid weight.
- For Steelhead, use size 4 to 6 spin & glo with 2/0 to 3/0 hooks.
- For Salmon, use size 2 to 0 Spin & Glo with 4/0 to 7/0 hooks.
- Use 6mm plastic bead as buffer between Glo’s and hook.
- Octopus hook.
Corky Riggings
- Corky + yarn, Corky + fly, Corky + eggs, Eggs + puff ball, Spin & Glo.
- Use proper hook for size of corky (i.e. size 2 octopus hook to size 10 corky).
- Steelhead + Salmon flies vary in size and shape. Try to keep them buoyant when using them.
- With all corky riggings, place toothpick in hole and cut off excess to keep rig looking natural.
- With bait both puff balls and corkies, the idea is to make bait buoyant.
- Hook size is very important with spin & Glo rigs (ie. size 2 with size 10 or 12 spin + Glo’s.
- 4mm plastic beads.
- All riggings use egg loop knot.
